Ecosystem’s president and C.E.O. has been selected as
a finalist for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
Nominated in the Quebec Region’s “Services” category, Andre Rochette was named as “one of Canada’s game-changing entrepreneurs who continue to drive sustainable growth and job creation across the country”.
“It’s great to see the efforts of the whole team over the last 20 years being recognized by such a prestigious award,” said Rochette. “Thanks also belong to our clients for letting us innovate and push the envelope.”
Under his leadership over the last 20 years, Ecosystem has grown from a start-up to a flourishing industry leader with operations in Ontario, New York and Quebec. Over the years, Ecosystem’s trademark out-of-the box thinking and holistic approach to energy management have reduced its clients’ energy consumption by 31% on average, in addition to significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
“It’s important to highlight all the potential our entrepreneurs harness and share with our markets and communities,” explains Francois Dufresne, Partner at Ernst & Young and Quebec Director of Entrepreneur of the Year. “Rewarding successful entrepreneurs means recognizing not only their contribution to the economy, but to the well-being of our society as well.”
For Rochette, innovation is the key to the firm’s long-term profitability and growth. Forward-thinking organizations like the Haliburton Highlands Health Services and the City of Montreal’s Nature Museums have provided the opportunity for Ecosystem to continually develop new technical solutions and adapt its business model to the benefit of clients.
The Québec winners will be announced at a banquet on October 25, and the overall winner will represent the region at the national gala in Toronto on January 16, 2013.
